Remove WiFi-Icon from bar

Hello,

I have Ubuntu Mate 17.10 and have a bar on the left of my screen. On this bar is an WiFi-Icon and I cannot remove it, because if I right click on it the WiFi dropdown menu appears

How can I remove this icon from my bar?

Try right clicking a little bit above the wifi icon. You should get a menu with “Help, About, Remove, Move”. When I do it and click “About”, I see it’s the Notification Area, so removing it would remove all the other possible icons, like sound and power.
