Restoring panels / Logoff from Caja

Hi,
I got stuck on following problem:
I have a user with autologin, it starts now on a mate desktop, that lacks every panel.
I have only the desktop with Caja.

how can I start the panel config from Caja?
Alternatively how can I logoff from Caja?
Or do I have a keyboard shortcut to logoff?

a) Update: the panels were on the closed lid from the laptop.
b) Logoff can be achieved with ctrl-alt-del.

Anyhow the answer to my question could have been interessant, ins'nt it?
