Is it possible to add this feature to just right click a program in the application menu and uninstall said application?
This would be an ease of use thing, one I would love

I agree, but I have not been able to find such a technique. If Linux Mint can do it, why not Ubuntu Mate?
You can use terminal, synaptic, software boutique or a script to do this. Right-click to uninstall is a bit risky, in my opinion. Same way in right-click menu you must expressly specify if include 'delete' option.

Right-click on thunderbird-uninstall-(done)
