Hi all. I'm having a slight problem as I can't work out how Chrome is auto-starting at boot / restart.
I've looked at the Startup Applications (
no signs ), Complete removal of chrome and re-install.
Can't see any option in Chrome settings.

Is Chrome set up as your preferred browser inside mate preferred applications ?
Maybe one of your apps is trying to open the web browser at startup. Try to change your preferred web browser to firefox and restart to see what will happen 
Hi - Tried that even though Chrome wasn't set to my default before.
Even uninstalled chrome through mate welcome/browsers and then re-installed.
Chrome still starts up.
Hmmm. Maybe I'll try a restore from a few days ago.

Just tried a full restore from Timeshift and Deja. Sill the same.
Possibly Chrome - Oh well I can live with this for now.

Can you check inside your bashrc ?
cat ~/.bashrc | grep chrome
and also here :
ls .config/autostart/

I tried disabling every startup item but Chrome still auto starts.
Also created a new test account. Chrome doesn't startup.
Do you happen to know if the startup process is logged and if so which one will tell me what's happening?
Finally Solved it. Removed google chrome - in the end......
