Running ubuntu Mate on a macbook pro?

I am a new member and user to ubuntu mate but I have been using linux for about 1 year now. Just giving a little background.

Has anyone had any issues running ubuntu mate on a macbook pro late 2015 model? It is installed I seem to have trouble with the wifi and also when I go to shut it down it just hangs there I have to hold the power button for it to be powered off. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

The PPC guide wont do any good I think, since you have an intel machine.
