I update Ubuntu (Mate) 22.04.2 LTS and after the update my keyboard brightness control key are no longer working.

Seems like stated your controls worked before update.
Question were you already on 22.04.2 and let it do normal updates or were you on a previous version and updated to 22.04 from say 20.04?
Sometime terms used mean different things to different people.
If you were on 22.04 and updated it don't think the kernel would be the problem as last one I received was on Jun 15.
My Dell laptop uses Fn F10 key in three steps off and two different levels, think there is another but not sure.
