Several non-working Compiz keyboard shortcuts

Noticed several Compiz keyboard shortcuts mentioned in Welcome don’t seem to be working.
Tried MATE Tweak ‘Reset Compiz’, plus system restart.

Below is a list of what works and what doesn’t on this laptop.

  • Super + Shift + W (scale effect shows all windows from all workspaces) Working
  • Super + N (invert colours of focused window) Not working
  • Super + M (invert colours of whole screen) Not working

If others find the same, I’ll generate a bug report.

Thank you.

Cannot confirm. A fresh installation of Ubuntu MATE 16.04 Beta 2 in VirtualBox shows these shortcuts to be working just fine.

I also can’t confirm. All keyboard shortcuts work as documented.

Thank you both for your feedback.

Since neither of you have any keyboard shortcuts issues, to try and discover the source of the problem I’ve just systematically gone through my settings using VirtualBox with a live beta 2 session.

Turns out, once advanced menu is enabled, then keyboard shortcuts mentioned in first post do not function. Disable advanced menu, and shortcuts begin working again.

Would you like me to generate a bug report?

Ah, because MATE Menu totally grabs all the hooks on the super key

Apologies for late reply.

That’s one of the reasons I remap ‘Enhanced Zoom Desktop’ from <Super> to <Alt>.

Otherwise, every time you press Super to change zoom level, the desktop pans to MATE Menu (as it opens) then back.
