UPDATE::: Installed Ubuntu-MATE 16.04 beta2. I’m happy to report that the “natural scrolling” option in the mouse/touchpad preferences is working great! And so far, the issue with Compiz appear to have subsided, at least for now. And brightness settings appear somewhat more preserved when plugging/unplugged power cable.
