Shortcut command doesn't work the same from desktop and MateMenu

  1. I’ve got PlayOnLinux
  2. Installed 2GIS software
  3. Created a shortcut with PlayOnLinux on the desktop. This shortcut launches the app correctly, its command: /usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux --run "2GIS" %F
  4. If I drag and drop this shortuct from desktop to MateMenu-> Edit-Menu -> Items
OR Edit-Menu -> New Item and paste the command mentioned above, resulting icon launches an app incorrectly and I get an error from app itself, it can’t access some of it’s components in this case database.

I’m noob and not relly sure what goes wrong. From user prospective there should be no difference where shortcut is located =)

I manually move the original launcher to ~/.local/share/applications and then modify them via the Main Menu editor. Granted, this is with the normal MATE menu (Applications, Places, System).

how do you modify them?

If I drop launcher from desktop to /home/~/.local/share/applications I do get nice icon with picture to work with lists in Edit menu, BUT in Mate Menu itself it is till a grey block with question mark that does not lauch programm correctly.

Funny enough, but if i create a Drawer applet on panel and drop launcher there - it works fine!

Now I’m totally confused))

Your launcher properties look like this?

Also your /applications/Main Menu, should read "Exec=mozo"

My launcher commad looks unusual see picture attached
