Show desktop command

Hello!
I’m kind of customizing all the shortcut keys and I’m almost settled.
I don’t have any issue using ctrl+alt+d to show my desktop, but (to me) would be more comfortable something jut like: ctrl+d or super+d.
Does anybody know how to do that?? I already try the Keyboard Shortcuts incorporated withing the distro, but does not have the “show desktop” incorporated among its options.

The option is there, it just has a longer name.

If you have switched your window manager to compiz it’s a little more involved. Let me know if this is the case.

As a matter of fact, yes. I do have compiz installed.

Hi @ejsame, Your answer gets complex. Compiz installed doesn't mean it is selected. By default, Compiz is installed in Ubuntu-MATE but not selected as the Window Manager.

Is the option posted by @monsta in your Keyboard Shortcuts? If so, then that's the place to change it and Compiz is not selected. MATE Tweak is the normal place to select Window Managers:

This is the Ubuntu-MATE 16.04 LTS version of MATE Tweak. Please let me know what version you have installed if we need to go further under Compiz. For example, are you familiar with the CompizConfig Settings Manager (usually called CCSM)?

Thanks for your rapid response, and I apologize for my ambiguity and lack of info. Yes, I do have compiz as my windows manager, and I’m using ubuntu mate 16.04 lts

In CCSM it's under General Options in the Key bindings tab and it is called Show Desktop.

I set mine to the same as Windows.

Compiz takes over many keyboard shortcuts and does things its own way. While I've run Compiz for a decade I still don't recommend it for new users unless they want a little learning curve.

That’s what i needed, tannks!

Great! Sorry I was worried I would take you down a useless path since compiz is not in common use and I wasn’t convinced it would help. Especially since CCSM isn’t installed by default.
