[SOLVED] Suggestion: On-Screen Keyboard For Ubuntu MATE Installation

Suggestion: Can you add an on-screen keyboard to installation setup? This feature is available in installed operating system. I think it’s a good idea to do it either in installation. Definitely, may help someone who doesn’t have an access to a USB keyboard or something else…

It is already there :slight_smile:

:grinning: Thanks for reply. Actually it’s my first time to install Ubuntu MATE in Raspberry Pi 2 and I didn’t find this feature in installation. Can say where is it?! :blush:

you should have ‘Onboard’ in your ‘Universal Access’ menu.

This version https://ubuntu-mate.org/raspberry-pi/ is suitable for Raspberry Pi’s family. when It boot up it’ll straightly goes into installation wizard without any menus or other things…

Hi, I would also like to know how to get On-screen keyboard when installing Ubuntu Mate on Raspberry Pi. I can’t seem to find it.

Goto Applications, Systems tools, Mate terminal. (or use terminal from startup) then type;

sudo apt-get install matchbox-keyboard

reboot the pi and then under Applications, Accessories you should find a keyboard!
