I have been an Ubuntu and Fedora user for some months and was thinking about starting to use Ubuntu Mate. I downloaded the OS and installed it on a virtual machine to see how all its features worked. However, when I searched Netbeans or BlueJ on the Software Center I didn't find the programs so that I could install them. Keep in mind that I had updated the apt database through the terminal before opening and looking for those programs. Don't Ubuntu and Ubuntu Mate share the exact same software repositories allowing us to find the same programs on both distributions? I wonder if it was my fault for not doing something properly or Ubuntu Mate really lacks those programs.
Synaptic has Netbeans.
I saw BlueJ here.

@Sapemi, to be clear are you using MATE's Software Boutique or one of the other package managers like Synaptic or ...? If you are using the Boutique that is a curated list, not the complete list.
I used the package manager called Software (which I installed by using MATE's Software Boutique), to search for Netbeans & BlueJ. I found Netbeans, but not BlueJ. See below:
@Sleepygeek I was using Software, not MATE's Software Boutique (which I saw had fewer programs). So it seems you are able to see NetBeans' package, I could only see the first "incubating" one. I will try to reinstall Ubuntu MATE on a VM (Using VirtualBox) and check it again.
@Sleepygeek after I reinstalled UbuntuMATE on a VM, applied all the updates, and installed Software and Synaptic (I hadn't installed the last one the first time), I can now find the NetBeans package in Software as your picture shows, thank you.
