On uBuntu-MATE 14.04 LTS, my laptop has a configurable SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad.
This makes it possible to get a 3 button mouse emulation using the touchpad.
On uBuntu-MATE 16.04 LTS, the changes to get a 3 button mouse emulation using the touchpad no-longer work making cut-and-past and xterm use challenging (I ended up using an external mouse).
The difference on the output of “xinput -list” is a new item: Sony Vaio Jogdial.
How do make the Sony Vaio Jogdial work as a 3 button mouse or how do I disable the “Sony Vaio Jogdial.” so that the server reverts back to the “Synaptics TouchPad” capability it had in uBuntu-MATE 14.04 LTS ?
Hey, i have the same problem, have installed debian 9 in my laptop, touchpad was working fine in windows, but after installing debian, left click and right click is not working, scrolling works fine, i have tried by external mouse but also in external mouse click is not responding, only scroll is working properly. How can i install synaptic touchpad, as xinput shows the jog dial touchpad, or how can i enable click in jogdial?
