Sorry if this has been asked, searching didn’t pull up anything. In my Menu Favorites is spelled as Favourites and I verified I’m on US English. I selected it again and applied and still nothing. Any Ideas? Not new to MATE, but new to Ubuntu MATE, never had this happen before on other distros.
I’m also on US-EN, and my Brisk says “favourites” too. Both the Brisk upstream and Ubuntu developers spell the Queen’s English, so maybe it was just overlooked. You could report an Ubuntu bug or upstream.
@Wimpy is British so he spells words the British way instead of how the Americans (not sure about our Canadian cousins) like to drop the letter “u” from many words like favourites, labour, colour etc!.
Assuming that the translations were done in British English only, it won’t show up as anything else unless someone goes there and changes it!.
Indeed! https://github.com/solus-project/brisk-menu/tree/master/po
The only en file is en_GB, so no luck for Americans unless someone contributes this on Transifex.
Canadians are fine with the GB spelling for the most part. Some are quite vocal about it too! (source: my wife is Canadian )
