I had a very good threapeutic hot stone massage for my 9 out 10 pain.
I laughed when she stretched my leg and she laughed as well. 
God has helped me when my sister drowned her children when she had post-partum depression.
And when my brother died of a cocaine overdose at my mom's house.

I can only hope that, for you personal sanity, you don't even attempt to make sense of why those terrible life events happened. They did ... for reasons that will never be known or fully understood ... and the only path to survival, without having those hanging over you as a persistent dark cloud, and any chance at hopeful outlook ... is to know that you have control over what you can do for yourself ... to make life before you the enjoyable experience that inspires you to seek to enjoy more of it!
Each of us has to find his/her own way to joyful fulfillment!
