Stuck in TTY1 after trying to setup xrdp

Hi all,

I’m a bit newer to Linux and decided it’d be fun to setup Ubuntu on my Raspberry Pi 2. I installed Ubuntu Mate no problem, did an upgrade using the apt dist upgrade work around.

I want to setup xrdp so I can remote into it from my Win10 computer because it’ll be in my network closet, so a bit inconvenient to try and connect a monitor to it.

I followed the following guide to setup xrdp (https://www.technig.com/remote-access-windows-10-via-ubuntu-vise-versa/), so setup xrdp, installed xfce4, created the xsession. Tested from my Win10 and was able to connect, great!

But knowing that when I restart the computer funny things happen, decided to do that and now on boot up, I see the plymouth boot screen, and then taken to “tty1” login.

Looking around suggestions range from ctrl+alt+f1 or f7 but don’t seem to do anything.

I’m not sure how to get back the regular interface. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
