Support of Ubuntu Pro users

Hi. I was wondering what the point is of Ubuntu having Ubuntu Pro if they're not going to support machines using it? I guess by your post my plan of using Pro to provide security for Jammy until 2032 means if I have any problems after 2027, that Ubuntu Discourse will not provide support? Internet mentioned 2027, but I thought flavors only had three years of support?

No all I'm saying is PRO is not a supported topic on the Ubuntu Discourse.

For PRO support you have to go through Canonical itself as Ubuntu support and PRO support are two different entities. The only support you will get on Ubuntu Discourse is for Ubuntu and official flavors that have not reached EOL.

Is that pay for usage to get that support?

I don't believe so as PRO for end users is free for up to 5 machines. I think you need to go the Canonical website and follow the links for PRO support but I'm pretty sure this was addressed on the PRO subcategory on the Ubuntu Discourse.

When I get home and I'm not on phone I'll take a look.

@ericmarceau here's some links on the main Discourse:

There are so many sub-categories buried under the main categories that so much of this info a new user would never find and the two links above are two of many dealing with PRO.

Thank you, Norm! Much appreciated.

Ubuntu Pro is a paid/premium service from Canonical, with discounts for some classes of users. The packages made available via Pro, and the other services (such as FIPS compliance, and Canonical Livepatch) are 100% out of the realm of support for non-Canonical people.

Ubuntu Discourse is moderated by volunteer community people, most of which do not work for Canonical. The community generally only supports the freely available Ubuntu products which are not gated behind a sign-up, even if they’re discounted to free for some users/systems.

Paid products and services are supported (or not) by Canonical, at their discretion.

Hi--just wondering about

Is the stipulation of being free up to 5 computers the "discounts for some classes of users" you mentioned?
I understand that Pro is a free service for 10 years of security on my computer, but just wanted to ask since you wrote that it was a paid/premium service, and you're the Co-founder.

For non-corporate aka end users you can attach up to 5 machines for free. You just won't get support thru Ubuntu Discourse for PRO. The link I provided to Eric takes some reading but it's all there.
