With both current project leads having other interests and obligations and not having applied to the re-qualification requests, for which the deadline passed if i’m not mistaken, it looks like it.
Apparently, as from what we’ve seen on the Ubuntu Summit 2025 video’s, Martin’s focus is on Nøughty Linux (that’s the impression i get) and Rudra (current Ubuntu Unity project lead) has a too busy schedule with university exams and tests.
Me and Tobiyo tried to pick up the Ubuntu Unity project and made an announcement that we need help because of the lack of knowledge. We’ve pointed the people who want to help out the way, everything is on gitlab which we merge with Launchpad but only two people provided some fixes which still need reviewing and a sponsor to upload them. We have no one else as developer on board, except for one but he also has enough to do with Ubports. So for both projects it doesn’t look too bright at the moment. For us it’s hard to get a hold of our project lead and are kinda stuck.
