Continuing the discussion from Ubuntu MATE 16.04 Beta 2 is released:
Hi Ma-te's. Have been using Beta 2 since 18th March dual boot with Win7 and not had any problems with it. Tried Mint and Ubuntu but don't like them.

You’ve made a good choice! I hop around with distros a lot, but Ubuntu MATE is always the one I come back to.

I’ve been using Ubuntu 14 LTS and when 16 came about I decided to try it in a separate test partition. My desktop choice gnome flashback - metacity; I found there were some issues with flashback and 16. On the Ubuntu forum it was suggested that I try Ubuntu Mate - boy am I glad I did. Right OOTB I had what I needed! I’m still testing UM on 2 computers and use it 95% of the time. If my experience thus far holds true I’ll be replacing Ubuntu with UMate 16 LTS once released later this month

Was using Ubuntu 14 a while ago, but 50 or 60 icons in side panel so muddly and untidy.
