Tilda not auto loading

I ran some updates and TIlda stopped starting when system booted.

Checked the startup programs, seems it points to
/usr/lib/ubuntu-mate/ubuntu-mate-tilda
which is a script.

Of course the Tilda app is in
/usr/bin/tilda

I now have it pointing to this so it can start. But I guess the point is, the script is not working in ubuntu-mate folder.

I manually set tilda as a startup program with the single word command “tilda”. It’s currently working okay. So, for anyone where this is not working, they might want to try changing the start up command to just the one word.

As well as the smaller RAM requirements of Tilda as compared to Guake, the other thing I like about it is the lack of a system tray icon, as compared to Guake, as it’s uneccessary and takes up valuable panel real estate.

I did change the way tilda is started in the new settings package. It now uses the script you’ve identified. I’ll test my 15.04 install and chck.

I just tested. Tilda works for me.

It is not working in 15.04, I broke it :disappointed_relieved:

The /usr/lib/ubuntu-mate/ubuntu-mate-tilda script does not have the executable bit set. Grrrrph. My mistake, will take but a moment to fix and a week or more to get into the archive…

So I just set that script to executable and point to it again and we're good to go?

@parzzix That is correct.

Amazingly my fixed version, 0.4.4.1, is now in the official Ubuntu 15.04 repository :grinning:
