I manually set tilda as a startup program with the single word command “tilda”. It’s currently working okay. So, for anyone where this is not working, they might want to try changing the start up command to just the one word.
As well as the smaller RAM requirements of Tilda as compared to Guake, the other thing I like about it is the lack of a system tray icon, as compared to Guake, as it’s uneccessary and takes up valuable panel real estate.
The /usr/lib/ubuntu-mate/ubuntu-mate-tilda script does not have the executable bit set. Grrrrph. My mistake, will take but a moment to fix and a week or more to get into the archive…
