Hi to all
I m using TopMenu Applet and i want to make transparent the background of the applet. How can i do it without using compiz?
Thank you
right-click on panel >> properties >> background >> solid colour >> slide the ‘style’ slide to get transparency
Hi.Thank you for your reply.
As you can see in the screenshot i have tried this method but the background of the applet remains coloured with the colour of the theme.
Thank you.
I forgot to say that you probably have to switch compositing on as well
sorry i’m not at my MATE machine right now, but I think you do it using the ‘windows’ setting in the control centre or MATE-tweak
I use Marco as window manager and the compositing is on.
Ah, i see - I misunderstood - I thought you wanted the panel transparent, not the applet.
It looks like the author of the applet/plugin has not included any transparency options
Ok , thank you very much.
Is it possible, tweaking the gtkrc file to have any result?
I don’t know.
maybe you can contact the author here
Thank you anyway.I’ll try to contact the author.
If you’re lucky, there’s a picture called background.png or something somewhere in the folder. If so, just remove it and reinstall the application.
