Torrent tracker not working for 16.04.1 – unable to seed

Hi all!

As the title says there seems to be something wrong with the tracker for the torrent for 16.04.1 PowerPC version. I get the error message “Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker.” I was able to download it but I seem to be unable to seed, which was my main goal actually.

I am using Transmission 2.84 (14306) on Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

Torrents for version 16.04.3 for AMD64 and i386, which I also downloaded, work just fine and there’s plenty of activity on them.

The tracker is the same for all 3 torrents, http://torrent.ubuntu.com:6969/announce

I just noticed that the tracker seems to work now. I didn’t do anything and I have no idea what happened, but I guess it’s fine. Seeding right now to the only leecher.

Since a few days back the Ubuntu torrent tracker is no longer working again for this torrent. It’s the same issue as before.

I found that this site seems to list all accepted torrents on the tracker:
http://torrent.ubuntu.com:6969/
The PPC variant is not listed there despite it being the latest and still officially available. It also seems that the i386 and amd64 variants of version 16.04 has recieved updates and therefor 16.04.3 are discontinued.

Until the PPC variant torrent tracker issue is resolved, and for those that want the older version of 16.04 for i386 and amd64 whatever reason, I will still seed these via the tracker Leechers paradise. Add udp://tracker.open-internet.nl:6969/announce to your bittorrent client.
