Ubuntu 22.04 LTS vs Ubuntu Mate 22.04 LTS

Can someone shed some light, in a quick way (point form ?)
as to what will be the differences between the upcoming
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS vs Ubuntu Mate 22.04 LTS ??
If only for newbies or basic users to know the differences

The biggest difference is the desktop.
Gnome or Mate?
Gnome is a new concept (kind of a Win8) kind of thing.
Mate is a traditional desktop.
There are other differences like Mate is a community effort, but the big one is Desktop, and deciding which one you prefer.

Well understood that the desktop is different.
I did mean system wise.
Are there any changes that don't apply to UM ?
Will it be all the same except the desktop format ?

All Ubuntu flavors use the same Ubuntu base that Ubuntu Desktop uses. The difference with flavors are the desktop itself, and the apps the desktop uses.

Ubuntu Desktop comes with 5 years of supported life; Ubuntu-MATE being a flavor comes with a shorter 3 years (though security updates continue the full 5 years for packages used by Ubuntu-MATE that are Ubuntu base packages, eg. Ubuntu-MATE 18.04 is end-of-life but if you have a system installed; a very large portion of it still receives security updates as those packages are common with Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop which is still supported).

To compare differences, you could always contrast what's found on the ISOs themselves; though'll you'll note much of it is identical (ie. both sharing the Ubuntu base).

Thanks.
I've been asked by a few to which I was recommending to go Linux/Ubuntu and more particularly UM.
This answer is much clearer and explicit that I could convey to them myself.
