Well, here it is. My new NUC mini-PC ( NUC5i5RYK ) is on it's maiden voyage, with our beta OS of choice.
It's outfitted with a Crucial 250GB M.2 SSD and 16GB of Ballistix 1866Mhz RAM. The "build" was stupid simple and it's now at home VESA mounted to the back of a 23" Acer monitor.
Mostly I've just been syncing my data back from remote storage and throwing stuff at it to see if it was stable. So far so good. It's super quiet even under decent load and VERY fast and smooth at the desktop.
Gaming performance seems to be about what you'd expect for a collection of ultrabook parts kitted out with gobs of RAM and a mid-range SSD... mostly older titles and a select few new ones.
Tomorrow I will put it through the paces with some transcoding and video editing, just to see how it handles prolonged CPU loads.
