Hello there. I have Ubuntu Mate 16.04 alpha installed on my system. I’m writing to know if I need to download the second alpha , or just keep getting updated my system without have to install it again. Is It the same ?
You can use the Software Updater as normal to get the latest development packages for Xenial (16.04). Or from a terminal:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
But... it's advised to install from scratch again anyway since there may have been a lot of changes, new stuff or things removed since Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 under the hood.
Not always, but leftovers from Alpha 1 may cause bugs or glitches later since these builds are early releases really designed for testing.
thanks for the answer, I think I’ll stick with this for the moment. I will reinstall if I really need to
