Hello!
I'm using Ubuntu Mate 16.04.6 (64bits).
know if the support time of Ubuntu Mate is the same as Ubuntu with 5 years?
Refer Ubuntu MATE 16.04 LTS reaches end of life
Or reading a release notice for Ubuntu 16.04.5
Maintenance updates will be provided for 5 years for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, Ubuntu Base, and Ubuntu Kylin. All the remaining flavours will be supported for 3 years.
EOL has been and gone for 16.04
@guiverc
Thanks for the info.
I need to use Ubuntu Mate 16.04 because the GeForce 6100 video chipset and I have a driver 304.137.
Ubuntu Mate 16.04 has Xorg 1.19 which is required for this driver.
You can use ubuntu-support-status
on a 16.04 system to actually view the status of your actual system, what is supported, and what isn't on a per-package basis. (ubuntu-support-status
was changed to ubuntu-security-status
in recent releases). It'll show the packages found in 'main' (ie. those common to Ubuntu Desktop will still be supported).
Beyond my blanket statement, that will show for your actual system (Ubuntu sourced packages anyway).
Congratulations on the Ubuntu website article.
Good news!
So can I still use it until April 2021.
" If you're still running 16.04 LTS and are not ready to upgrade, don't panic! Your system will still be as secure as the Ubuntu base until April 2021 , but please bear in mind some of your packages and applications will no longer receive updates".
