Ubuntu mate install on Dell XPS 15 9530 hangs on "How do you want to install ubuntu mate"

Subject says it all, Secure boot turned off boots from usb but wont complete install.

any suggestions?

  1. search this forum for dell xps 15, there are several posts

  2. add nouveau.modeset=0 to the boot options

i will try if i can get to boot options.. not having much luck, 22.10 is what im using.

oops 24.10 not 22.10

Dropping back to 24.04LTS did the trick. Installing now...
