Ubuntu Mate Raspberry Pi 3 - need a root password

I’ve installed Ubuntu Mate in my Raspberry Pi 3, but i can’t use any ‘‘sudo’’ command.
Every time i tries to use a ‘‘sudo’’ command, the terminal request a password, i searched on the internet and looks like i need a root password, but i can’t (don’t know how to) create one.
I can’t use any ‘‘sudo’’ command what do i do? pls help
(It’s my first time using a Linux)

Hi @morken,

your “Root password” is the PW you set when you installed your system (user name and password). :smiley:

Wait, my root password is the username+password?
Like:
username: ice
password: cream
root password: icecream

Something like this?

I’ve tried to use the user password but it didn’t worked.
