Ubuntu starter set Mate

Hello everyone I am To Fabricio I’m new here and not much of Ubuntu Mate.

my problem is that I need to start by default windows.
I put in the terminal: “sudo gedit /boot/grub/grub.cfg” thinking it would be like ubuntu
so hope I could help some of you thank you very much.

After you modified grub.cfg, did you do sudo update-grub ?

Yes an grub update is necessary, but you may be looking for /etc/default/grub.

I put Fabricio @ PC: ~ $ sudo gedit /boot/grub/grub.cfg
[sudo] password for tofabricio:
sudo: gedit: command not found
tofabricio @ PC: ~ $
and nothing = (

It appears to me :

If you change this file, run ‘update-grub’ afterwards to update

/boot/grub/grub.cfg.

For full documentation of the options in this file, see:

Also, gedit is not installed in Ubuntu MATE, but pluma is. So you can replace “gedit” in those commands with “pluma”

I do not understand you mean

You mean to put it in the terminal: sudo pluma /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Yes, that is correct.

It is already open: Grub.cfg (/ boot / grub) -pluma (as root)
within the file is written:

Unfortunately that’s not the right file to edit. See:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2/Setup#Configuring_GRUB_2

You need to change the GRUB_DEFAULT parameter, then update Grub.

Sorry I didn’t realize this earlier.
