what about ubuntu sysadmin version? It should looks like a ubuntu with zero application just with a grafical interface, hardware drivers, pluma text editor and system tools without users and groups.
Sysadmin should install desire applications on demand.
Hi @eno2! Have you tried the minimal install option? Another alternative could be to use Ubuntu Server and then install just the desktop that you want on top.
