UM 16.04beta2+updates and mythtv packages not compiled with openmax

As indicated by title, the mythfrontend package from mythtv is not compiled with openmax, preventing mythfrontend from using the accelerated video available on the Rpi.

Any ideas?

Regards!

Since it is early in the project still for Pi OS development, your going to find lots of software in the repositories that is generic non-specific code for arm side of these SoC’s. Special GPU features will sadly come when people much smarter than me sit down and say Ok, lets code this…

Ive never used MythTV… does it by chance rely on libav for anything? If it does, we recently got h.264 h/w encoders. Decoding will hopefully be soon™

Thank you!

From my understanding, The modifications required to use the openmax video, are included in the mythtv source code, the packages just need to be built with different arguments to the configure.

I am not sure about the libav. I will defer that to the smart people developing on mythtv. www.mythtv.org has more information and pointers to those who develop for it.

I understand that Thomas Mashos works with the mythtv developers, and creates the packages for the standard x86 platforms, and has also done some work with the Raspberry Pi.

Regards!

I just had a chat with Thomas on #mythtv, and he has fixed it up. Apologies for the noise!
