UM 18.04 Telegram Tray icon

Hi everyone,

since upgrading to 18.04 the telegram tray icon is part of the notification area and you can't use it anymore
to disable and enable the telegram window.

Did anyone else experience the same or knows how to place the icon out of the notification area again?

That is not the Notification Area in your picture. It is the new “indicator applet”. Presently it is not configurable. You have no say over its looks, it’s icon size/placement or much of anything. It also appears to break the Notification Area should you try to remove the ‘indicator’ and use the Notification Area instead.

I assume tgis is a known issue and we can expect it to be solved in the near future?
