I have UbuntuMate 18.04.1 (64b) on a Ryzen box. I don't use the standard panel options. I use a vertical panel at the left of the display. Indicator applet for this panel is set at the bottom, and locked. Every time I log in, even it is locked, it comes up the panel below the time, with some space for the dock. Meaning I can't lock the applet position, and have to move it every time.
I would appreciate any hint on how to solve this issue.

It’s bug with the MATE panel with vertical panels.
A workaround is to leave some space after the last applet — even just one pixel.
