Unable to reproduce DVD

Hi guys,

I’m not able to see any kind of DVD Disk; I have used VLC, Totem, the error is ( in Italian )
“Impossibile leggere il filmato” >> “Unable to read the film”
I have installed all the libraries, but no way; I 've tried with different DVD, same result.
Can you help me?

I’m using ubuntu Mate 17.04

Which libraries have you installed?

Have you issued these commands?

sudo apt-get install libdvd-pkg
sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg

You could try this:

Go to: Welcome > Getting started > Updates and Extras

Once there select the following for installation:

  • Additional Codecs

and

  • Blue-ray and DVD Playback Support

To be absolutely sure that these new packages will be working, re-boot your computer.

Now try to look at your DVD.
