I wanted to say thanks to everyone who made this community something special.
One of the reasons this place was special was the fact that this community kept itself in good running order. You all were instrumental in reporting issues and questionable behaviors, which made it much easier for the moderation team to handle issues when they arose and to keep them from getting out of hand.
Not only that but the level of tech support that was offered to folks here was great too see. We saw a lot of folks that were not even using Ubuntu MATE anymore stay and help support users, that was a great thing to see, which says a great deal about the community here.
I hope to see many of the names and avatars of the folks here in other places in the future.
I also wanted to make sure to give a huge THANK YOU to @lah7
Luke has done such an amazing job in making this transition go as smoothly as possible. But beyond that, his presence behind the scenes was nothing short of inspiring! He deserves a huge round of applause for his work over the years and I can say without any reservations that this place would not have been the community it was without the work that he did.
Almost ten years to the day since I joined Ubuntu Mate Forum. I will miss this site, which was the best forum in Linux land. To anyone else checking in for one last time. Goodbye, hope to see you at:

This is my last post as well. Hoping the Community finds its way to gather again in a new "lounge" which reflects our shared attitudes and outlook!
To all the Moderators and Administrators, present and past, thank you for the generosity of your time, devotion and service. Speaking, hopefully for everyone, you served us well as a Community of common cause and purpose. It was, and is, a gift that we recognize as being of a value, immeasurable to some, which could never be returned in kind! And for that we will be eternally grateful!

This "Ubuntu MATE Community" has been indeed, in my view, truly wonderful! It has been a great pleasure, for me, being a part of it. In my case, I've been here since October 2016 (almost 10 years ago!) with the following post:

Thank YOU for all your responses to my queries!!! I hope you come up somewhere in the future!! I have already seen a few names on the discourse. You have always helped me from years of little things and helped with understanding what to do and why. So long guy!!
