I just restored U-Mate with Clonezilla. The image was from June, so now I would like to update it. I ran the software updater, and it said it would only do a partial upgrade. I started with that, but then I
panicked, as it said upgrade, not update. I cancelled the “upgrade.” I don’t want to upgrade my system, just update it. How should I proceed?
Thanks,
Michael
I forgot how rich this forum is. I did a search and immediately found a thread with relevant info. I used terminal with a command I unfortunately have already forgotten, but it was to remove broken packages. Also, I made sure my settings were not allow non-LTS updates. The terminal command ran for several minutes, and completed with no apparent problems. I will now attempt to do an update and hopefully things will be cool.

Same thing happened, message said that it could only do a partial “upgrade.” At this point I guess I will go for it, as I can always reinstall the image from June and start over. I think that since I have it set not to upgrade to non-LTS distros, I should be OK. Greater clarity with the terms “update” and “upgrade” would seem to be helpful.
