Upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04 (error in the description of release notes)

Okay, it seems I got a little confused. My apologies. :confounded:

By design, Ubuntu updates can only happen to the next release so:

  • 18.04 LTS → 18.10 or 20.04 LTS
  • 19.10 → 20.04 LTS

But not:

  • 18.04 LTS → 20.10
  • 19.10 → 20.10

So actually, you're right in that we need -d. Though, the -d won't be necessary once [somebody or robot] at Canonical HQ enables updates to show in Software Updater. Currently it doesn't show for me in 19.10, and I know LTS releases wait for the first point release (.1)
