I haven't started my "sandbox" StinkPad Yoga in a while, so I thought I'd do so and get any new updates since the last time. I wasn't expecting to be notified that an upgrade was available, but since I had time and it is an experimental machine, I decided what the heck?
I'm happy to report that the upgrade went extremely smoothly. Only two items gave me pause. The first was the notice that the upgrader couldn't disable my screen locker, so I had to do so manually. The second was one of those "replace XYZ configuration file, or skip?" questions. In the past, when in doubt, I skipped them, but this was a lightdm
configuration file, and I haven't made any changes of concern, so I let it overwrite the existing file. It took about an hour for the whole process. I didn't watch the clock.
Now I am running UBUNTU 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) 64-bit, under Kernel release 6.14.0.23-generic x86_64 and MATE 1.26.2.
I haven't decided if I want to restore the screen locker or not, but my brief initial post-upgrade checks show that on my machine, everything appears nominal and intact. Just FYI.
