Using w3m on Ubuntu Mate

I have w3m.

I can not figure out how to input stuff.

As a quick start: It might be easier with a more minimal search engine:

w3m https://duckduckgo.com
  • Tab to switch to the next link (blue), input or button (red).
  • Enter to start typing on an input field. The text appears at the bottom. Press ENTER again to confirm.
  • F2 to go back a page. (At least, this does on a TTY)
  • Q then Y to quit & confirm.

Very useful utility for retro 32-bit computers, old terminal style! :sunglasses:

With a mouse and modern terminal, you may be able to gently double click the box too, to input text.

Don't forget the use on servers (no GUI), when you need to download an update for e.g. your hardware RAID control software via https:// :slight_smile:
