I use vlc to ensure I have working subtitles and it's a life saver being able to quickly test and download subs right from the player, however now I am getting an error. The error says "Error: Unable to save subtitles. Click here to open the file." the later part is blue and is supposed to open the gzipped file from opensubtitles.org directly in the web browser of your choice.
The usual fix is to make sure you have a vlc directory in your user .cache directory. I have this and am seeing the error nevertheless. Any solutions?
It's not exactly an error. If you click on the "Click here..." the subtitle is downloaded into your Downloads directory.
Yeah it kind of is.
I'm on my phone now and can't do a screencapture to prove it but the window that comes up is a blank window for me in Pale Moon so I don't have that option. Also it defeats the point of having the feature in the app if you have to download each sub manually. Might as well head over to subscene or some other place with season packs and download them all to testing out one at a a time skipping the add-ons altogether.
I'd just like things to work again like they're supposed to--when stuff doesn't work as intended that's an error.
EDIT: It suddenly fixed itself, which is frustrating because that means the next time this happens I won't know what to do to fix it because I still don't know what caused it. For whatever it's worth it's working as intended now and I am grateful. Thanks.
