I was having several paper cut type problems, with display, windows and the file chooser window to name a few. I installed Ubuntu MATE 22.04.1 fresh and its working fantastically! I did not restore the .config file, where I do believe that is where my problems lay. In addition I was running Ubuntu with the MATE desktop. My installation is now pure UM. I should have done this sooner. Thanks to all in the forums that have helped/tried to help me. It was much appreciated.
