Some of us are definitely well aged. But as far as Rock music goes the heyday was the 60’s,70, and 80’s.

I played the Trumpet/Coronet in Middle school. Love horn music.
The main differences between a trumpet and a cornet are their shape and sound. The cornet has a conical bore, making it smaller and producing a warmer, mellower tone, while the trumpet has a cylindrical bore, resulting in a brighter, more piercing sound.
The instrument that produces what I consider the highest quality sound is the French Horn.
One piece that approaches the degree of instrument-focus I like to have in music is the following:
Unfortunately, I have never found a piece that truly showcased the Horn without being "interfered" or "downplayed" by other instruments, even among those pieces that composers claimed to be intended to showcase the Horn. What a shame!

The times we live in made my subconscious dredge up this song from the past:
The music I listen to most of the time is actually more into the hard rock / glam metal style. KISS was the first hard/heavy music I listened to, I think I was 12 y.o. After that there was Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, W.A.S.P. and a few more like Poison, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe.
KISS: “Crazy Nights” - Loved this song when the album was released back then (1987) and I still love it today.
Bon Jovi - “Let It Rock” - track #1 from Slippery When Wet, released in 1986, I remember I went to the record store and bought it on cassette, after watching "You give love a bad name" and "Livin' on a prayer" video clips on TV, but the opening song hit me hard and stayed with me since then.
Poison - “Cry Tough” - Same as above, I was a kid back in 1986 and this song got stuck in my head right away, even more and even before than "I want action" and "I won't forget you".
You gotta cry tough / Out on the streets / To make your dreams happen / You gotta cry out / Out to the world / To make them all come true
