What image editing software do you guys use for creating desktop wallpaper?
I am intrigued!
I use Gimp for making wallpapers
I use GIMP too for any image manipulation.
But if you feel that GIMP Might be too complex, there are some alternatives out there:
“Pinta” is a “mini” GIMP
Pixelitor is very simple to use even more simple than Pinta (.jar)
to see if java is installed on your system =>terminal=> java -version

Phantasmagoria another extremely simple to use, with 100s of special effects (.jar)
LazPaint can be used as a simple GIMP to process images too
“Krita” is as fully featured as GIMP and as GIMP you can add “G’MIC” (wonderful add-on)
On the opposite side
Fiji / ImageJ2 are scientific image processing analysis and editor if you found GIMP a bit too much “simple”, but Woow this tool is extremely powerful (need a lot of training as well as understanding digital images)
GIMP, Inkscape or a mix of both (i.e. work on a bitmap picture or photo in GIMP, then import it in Inkscape to add vector shapes or text more easily than in GIMP).
