What happens with the monthly preset payments which are/were provided as a contribution ?
Do we need to make changes with payment instruction ? Reallocate ? Cancel ? Keep it as it is ?

I’ve just assumed I was supporting Mate development, so what happens to the contributions now?
Just for clarity, Wimpy is the only person who has access to and information on the financial aspects of the project.
lah7 has reached out to Wimpy and will update this when he gets the information.
I also posted within the Ubuntu MATE - seeking maintainers thread on the Ubuntu Discourse about how one could donate to keep the project going as many who use UM have no technical experience to be able to help outside of donating monetarily. Maybe post in that thread also when there is an answer?
When we get the information, we will make sure it is posted there as well.

I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who contributed over the years. The contributions have helped fund UBuntu MATE and MATE Desktop infrastructure and sponsored development that wouldn’t have happened without your support 🙇♂️
I’ve been a bit tied up with family stuff over the last week, but I’m going to contact the developers and community contributors who’ve expressed interest in maintaining Ubuntu MATE and figure out how to start handing things over. This will include handing over domains and the DNS registrar for mate-desktop to the upstream project, and it is something Ubuntu MATE has been funding for years.
So it means payments will be redirected, I guess ?

I am going to cancel all future payments. The Ubuntu MATE Patreon will effectively come to an end.
Hate to throw another log on the fire since you have a lot going on but for those of us who want contribute outside of Patreon (paypal etc.) is that something that we can eventually start doing again or is that simply up to the next maintainer(s) on how they may want to handle it?
That will be up to the future maintainers. I’ll be covering any domain and infrastructure expenses during the transition and ensuring there are no ongoing costs associated with keeping the online presence active.
