What's the status of bluetooth on the Raspberry PI 3?

Hello All,
I have my new raspberry pi 3 up and running. And I got everything going accept Bluetooth. The announcement page does mention that this isn’t working, and they’re working on sorting it out. I did some googling/searching/etc’ing and haven’t found any status on this.
So I figured the best thing to do is to open up a fresh thread. Does anyone out there have the status on how we’re doing on this topic?
Thanks,
Rich

This will hopefully be addressed in Ubuntu MATE 16.04 for the Raspberry Pi 2/3.

I’m hoping sooner. That being said, 16.04 isn’t that far out.

Thanks. Where can this issue be tracked?

I haven’t seen an alpha or beta release of 16.04 for Raspberry Pi 2/3, so I was considering trying to build using flavour maker. However, until the issue is fixed in source (and repository), I don’t think it would be very useful for me to attempt building.

UPDATE: No responses, so I’m trying flavour maker with the following settings and results (unsuccessful so far, help appreciated).

build-settings.sh:

FLAVOUR="ubuntu-mate"
FLAVOUR_NAME="Ubuntu MATE"
RELEASE="xenial"
VERSION="16.04.1"
QUALITY="beta2"

End of build log (70k+ lines omitted):
