Where can I find the weather applet code?

I don’t know how to use launchpad. Please help me locate the weather applet sources branch. I’m going to patch it myself. I’m tired of it not including a lot of world locations, despite the weather service provider supporting all of them, including the one where I am currently residing.

Hi
On launchpad I think you’ll find the source for the released packages, not sure about the current dev.
You can get the latest sources from github though.

sudo apt install git
git clone https://github.com/mate-desktop/libmateweather
git clone https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-applets

The latest updates have fixed the weather applet (including forecast capability).

No. This is a different issue. The Weather applet is seriously limited in the number of locations. In the years since it first started using the previous weather service and today, plenty of South American, African and Asian stations have been added to online weather services around the internet. And yet, its locations file hasn’t been updated since at least 2011. Probably even longer, since its history ends there.

It is great to know that you are thinking of updating the locations. I just read on the Roadmap that libmateweather will eventually be dropped and libgweather used instead for the GTK+3 version.

I got tired of no getting the weather so I installed my-weather-indicator.
