Why is there an old version of Arduino IDE

I started to work with Arduino, and i was wondering why the new Arduino version (2.3.3) is not present? i have downloaded the appimage 2.3.3 and it works good, so why cant this be installed with the app Center.

Hi, @Maarten_Zonneveld and welcome to the Ubuntu MATE Community!

It's in the Software app but not in the MATE "boutique".

Hi, @Maarten_Zonneveld and welcome to the Ubuntu MATE Community!

I can indeed confirm that 1.8.19 is the current version available in the repositories. I'm not sure if there is a Snap version available in the App Center, however.

If you'd look into the details of the said packages, the maintainer seems to be the Ubuntu Developers themselves. I suppose they have missed this one and forgot to package 2.3.3.

In this case, I suggest sticking with the official packages/binaries provided by their official website. There's no reason not to get it directly from the makers themselves. Have a good one!

Ik heb voorlopig de nieuwe 2.3.3 appimage geinstalleerd en dit werkt goed. Beetje curieus dat men dit niet update.

Got it. Totally missed the version discrepancy.
