Why not thunderberd is updated regularly?

Hi, my question today is why not updated Thunderbird, just out version 45.2 installed on the system version is 38.8, of the same way it does Firefox periodically.

It can be done through the ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-next

But being an important part of the system I am surprised that is not updated regularly.

I’ve added this idea to our list of development tasks. We need to ensure adding this won’t break the extensions we ship by default.
