Will Ubuntu Mate 26.04 be an LTS?

I heard that Mate didn't apply to canonical

No applications are made to Canonical; applications are made to the Ubuntu Technical Board, which I've mentioned on this site, but please read on. Not all members of the Ubuntu Technical Board are employees of Canonical.

There are multiple threads & questions about that issue on this site; have you looked at any?

The last release the Ubuntu Release team published was Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS, which I wrote about on this site here

To quickly scan changes in this Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS ISO, you can view Whilst Ubuntu MATE was not officially involved in this release, the [unofficial] ISO can be found at ( where, at least for now, the official 24.04.3 files are also still available )

You'll note the official flavors involved are listed there, with me quoting from an official announcement, before I mention the unofficial Ubuntu MATE 24.04.4 ISO can be downloaded.
