In About Weather Report, wind speed set to mph but About Weather Report shows knots ??

Is there a fix ?

Check your preferences. Every weather program I've used has a setting for temperature (C/F), wind speed (mph, kmh) , barometric pressure, visibility. etc.

I already did check that.

I would like to remove the applet but I think I will lose others I need as well.

You can just add the panel applet for clock and set up wind under preferences/ weather wind speed. :
